I'm currently proposing we include any region/version of a game that is significantly different¤ from its counterparts as a separate game in the game list, similar to how we use to do for KH/KH-J & KH2/KH2-J on the Google Docs awhile back. The current implementation is simply not ideal because the default region filtering combines both English and Japanese, which for these games is never a comparison that should even be considered.
One of the main considerations for this approach was the Sonic speedrun community (http://speedrun.com/sonic). They do the same thing for games like Sonic Heroes Console vs. PC and Sonic Unleashed PS3/Xbox360 vs. PS2/Wii.
That means the following games will be split out of their English counterparts into their own Japanese games:
- KH-J
- KH2-J
- Days-J
- BbS-J
- KH2FM-J HD
If I've missed any, it's most likely because I don't know if the Japanese version is significantly different (Re:Coded, I'm lookin' at you). Simply reply if this is the case. Please contain any discussion for or against this proposal within this thread.

Yeah I would like to see if something could be done with the 2FM HD and BBS FM HD, too. Also, and I doubt this is possible, but is there a way that for BBS we have a thing that only shows the 3 characters, then once you click a character, there is a drop down that shows each category for each character. Almost 100% sure there isnt but i think that would be pretty cool if it can be done. The game just has way too many categories though to make anything look clean
2FMHD and BBSFMHD are being separated. We're just in the process of moving times over at the moment and we plan to eventually turn what is currently 2.5 into BBSFMHD to prevent massive headaches with having to resubmit every time for it.
@RebelWatt @Timmiluvs Yes, we're already separating the two as Silver said. And Timmi's right, there's no way currently to do subcategories like that but I sent a message to some of the owners of speedrun.com. The closest thing we could do right now is lump all the characters into the same categories and create an additional variable (column) where you insert the character, allowing you to filter by character at the top. This, however, is pretty unnatural as there's virtually no reason to ever compare category times of multiple characters within the same leaderboards. I can create some screenshots later if this behavior isn't clear.
P.S. Thanks for using the forums guys! I want to try to get these to catch on when we're discussing strats, leaderboard info, etc., so glad to see people participating.
Yeah really hoping people start using the forums as well. Will be nice to see what other people's opinions are without the whole talking behind other's back. Got something on your mind, just post it in the forum.
