Hello,
I've been interested in speedrunning since I saw a 16 star Mario 64 in 2010. I've just been a combination of too intimidated and lazy to try it myself. After watching several GDQ in the past, this year my wife encouraged me to give it a try at least.
Thus far everyone I've met in the speedrunning community has been absolutely great and I look forward to talking with many more of you in the future.

You sound pretty great, yourself! Hope that the try is rewarding! It's the journey, not the destination... even if the hobby is about reaching a destination faster. :)
