Why aren't women funny?

Thank you for taking my clickbait cancer. Now that I have you all nice and triggered allow me to explain. Every single woman "comedian" I try to watch isn't funny. They come off as forced and cringey. I can't laugh my ass off to women like I can to men. Christopher Hitchens once said that women aren't funny because there's no evolutionary benefit. Guys have to be funny to woo the women. Girls don't have to be funny because girls are already attractive without humor. Do you think there is any truth to this?

I also think that most women comedians aren't funny. There are lots of non-comedian girls I know, who are funny enough so that I already shed tears of joy. You can not say that women in general are not funny. Also humor and attraction don't stand in any kind of relationship.

Dunno, I seem pretty good at making people laugh..and making cheesy-ass puns, but I relate to men more than women (it runs deeper than something as this). I'm no comedian though, I just crap out jokes whenever I feel theres a time for one.

I hope I don't get asked for examples, it's not as funny on demand (many require some degree of understanding the source material).

In a nutshell: It depends...and as always, humor is subjective. I don't like shock (most), gross out and strawmanning humor.

Would be stupid to say that just because someone is female, they're automatically unfunny.

Well the primary audience for women comedians is women, so most of their jokes try to relate to the same sex. Thats probably why you don't find them funny.

I agree with FurryWulfz. Most comics aren't funny.

I find stand-up extremely entertaining, but I usually don't find it laugh-out-loud funny. I usually like a comic because they have interesting stories or perspectives. One of my favorite comics is Myka Fox, a woman, but she only really makes me laugh when she's in situations other than doing a set.

I personally don't think comedians are funny. I'm not really a big fan of people insulting and making fun of each other in the name of "fun".

@soru

I know what you mean. I don't appreciate that type of comedy either, but it's not all insulting. Most of that type of stand-up is the more "mainstream" stuff. A guy like John F. O'Donnel is manic depressive (I think that's the term), and his sets are often simply descriptions of his past, wild mental delusions. Myq Kaplan is a comic whose set is often wordplay and puns. I don't want to defend stand-up comedy as a whole, since I have a much different perspective from most people, but I will say that it's not all insulting.
