Do either PS3 or 360 tend to run faster than the other?

There's a game I'm looking at running called Black Knight Sword (it's not on the site). It's a console exclusive, but it's console agnostic, existing for both the Sony and Microsoft machines. I have it for 360 but I feel I might rebuy it for PS3 if there's a possibility it might run faster. Is this a likely possibility? If it helps, I have both a "Slim" and "SuperSlim" PS3 (I'm less familiar with the different models of 360, or I'd say which of those I have as well). Is one generally faster than the other, or is this something you can't really say as a generalisation and you'd have to look case by case? I guess it mostly comes down to load times.

I dont know if I have a definitive answer for this, but my gut tells me 360 might be faster than PS3. PS3 is known for having some notoriously slow loads because of the blu-ray discs that it reads from. Having never owned an XBox 360 (and knowing very little about it), I can't say for certain it will be faster than PS3, but given the history PS3 has with some games, it's a decent be 360 might edge it out and be faster.

In general, X360 versions have faster loading times than PS3 (that is, if you don't change the HDD that's in it or anything, you know).

Platform load speeds are usually like this:

PC>X360>PS3>Wii>GCN (GameCube)>PS2>...

PS2 loads faster than PS3 in some cases. I can think of a few cases where a PS2 game remade for the PS3 loads like 40+ minutes slower. I'd almost wager that Wii/GC loads faster too (but hard to tell since different companies and different games).

You'd be surprised how slow the 360 and PS3 actually load. PS3 for example tends to load slower unless you homebrew your PS3 and hack it to install a game directly onto the HDD instead of reading it off the blu-ray disc. Bonus speed if you install it onto an SSD (however both of those methods are usually banned since they involve hardware manipulation in order to achieve advantages).

The game's digital though. Does that change the calculation?

iirc, digital X360 is still faster than digital PS3 in general.
