Avermedia LGP Lite + Scart to HDMI Converter

Bought a Avermedia LGP Lite a while ago and wanted to start streaming/recording N64 games. The Scart To HDMI Converter works fine, i see the game on my TV, but ReCentral can't record, i get "unknown error" every time, no matter what resolution i try and obs just shows black screen. Does somebody know why i get that error and what i can do to maybe solve the problem?

Edit: Recording with the WiiU works fine, forgot to mention that

First of all, hey there fellow Austrian ;D Anyways, the post above has quite some open questions imo.

  • Did you install them (correctly)?
  • Did you update these?
  • Did you check the settings? I have an Elgato HD60 and it offers Options/Modes for custom input, WiiU, XBOX etc. You should use custom then since it's not a direct input from the Console.
  • Are you sure the Drivers/Capture Card is compatible with your OS?
  • Are you Admin/Do you have Admin rights on your PC?
  • Are all the cables connected correctly?
  • Are all Settings in the Converter right? I had a problem with mine, because my TV only supports 720p instead of 1080p, so I couldn't see anything on the TV. Maybe your Capture-Card/TV has same issues.

These might be some trivial questions, I know. But you can never be too sure and maybe you did forget something.

Thanks for the reply! To answer all the questions:

  • Everything should be installed correctly, recording with my WiiU works fine
  • Drivers are up to date
  • Ony thing i have in the settings is game console, nothing else, probably because the lgp lite costs a lot less than the elgato
  • since the recording with the WiiU works everything should be compatible
  • admin rights are on
  • cables should be fine
  • I have tried 1080p, 720p and even 800x600, i see the game on tv without a problem on every solution, only recentral shows a black screen when i hit record and after 10 sec it shows "unknown error - please restart"

That's strage but not surprising since these are basic questions. Since I'm not a expert in any form for capture cards, I don't know how much I can help there. You should try to mess around with the setting from the Converter, Capture Card and the OBS Device Settings. If you can't achieve anything with that, you should try to contact the AverMedia Support and ask them. Maybe they got a solution for that.

Yeah there are not really much settings to mess with in recentral, its pretty basic. i've not contacted the support yet because you have to fill in name, phone number etc. for maybe not even getting help, so i probably avoid contacting the support, because i don't see why i have to share all these information for simple support. Haven't really found something similar to my problem in forums yet, but maybe someone with similar problems sees the thread and has a solution, so i leave that topic up.

But thanks for trying to help me, i appreciate that!
