Capture Cards and Microphones

So I mainly want to focus on streaming n64 games, but I have no history with recording them, and a lot of information I have found online is outdated. For capture cards, I have a feeling that no matter what I buy, I'll need a converter, but I do not even know what a converter is exactly. So my question is, of course, what are converters and which one I should think about buying, and what kind of capture card should I look at?

As for microphones, I'd like to just see suggestions. I live in a somewhat noisy household, so the Audio-Technica AT2020 mic I was looking for might not suit me due to its insane sensitivity. Not only that, but I have a loud keyboard and I don't want to deafen people I talk to online with the sounds of cities being under attack.

Thanks!

Ahhh, ok, I remember reading that now that you mention it. I will definitely be looking into these two capture cards you mentioned. The price is definitely a lot nicer! Edit - would I need a splitter with that? Which ones are viable?

Sadly I want to avoid headset mics because I get headaches from wearing headphones for too long, and I like to keep an ear on my house. I have headphones that I will wear while I stream, though. I just gotta either take breaks or endure the consequences lol.

Oh thanks so much! That's the one I was going to get, but I thought I'd need 3 female to 6 male. (which doesn't exist) Thanks for the clarification. Now to go shopping!
