Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out how to make the Twisted Metal boards decent. Everyone do me a favor and run the game a bunch of times so I have submissions to look at. Also, give me suggestions as to how I can make the boards super neat.

On Twisted Metals 2, you could use Sub-Categories for the Difficulties.

And you'd also tell us what you need and what it's about. For Themes (The actual design):

  • Either feedback (which isn't really required as far as I see since it doesn't have a theme)
  • Themeing in general

Or for who the categories and rules are setup.

What's the difference between a category and a sub-category? I don't know.

A subcategory mostly prevents a variable from appearing in the same table as another. The general thought being "Easy" vs "Hard" isn't really a direct comparison. It creates separation without creating another category.

Thanks for opening my eyes to subcategories. They're really great.

I have another question for you guys regarding the TM boards, maybe it's a general question too though. IDK if this happens on other boards or not. I submitted a run recently to Twisted Metal's Tournament - Easy board. It shows up in my profile but when I look at the board itself, it says no runs. Did I submit incorrectly? Is there something I can do to fix this?

What about the background art? There are plenty of nice wallpapers that could fit this board. =)

Things that may be causing this:

  • Wrong Category/Sub-Category selected
  • The Run has a variable that is marked as MISC and therefore hides it. See in the Filters
  • You have a required variable but no default assigned to it.

@CriscoWild

Click on Edit game, check all the options. For example, on rules, see if the emulators runs is chosen "hidden by default". "It can cause to hide some runs. Switch to "shown by default".

I deleted the two variables that I had made for Twisted Metal (Character, Difficulty) and my run showed up. I started re-adding variables. I didn't have a problem with Difficulty at all. I added Character and Thumper and that worked. Once I added more than one character to the Character variable and set Sweet Tooth to the default, that's when my run stops showing up.
