Im new to speedrunning but im trying to figure out the best way to record my runs. do speedruns have to be livestreamed? or can i record a run, the run needs to be varified anyways and if there are any problems i could try to fix them. anyways im just wondering what the best method for recording and such is, thanks.

Most people use either OBS or XSplit to record and/or stream their runs. You can either use it to livestream to Twtich, Beam, etc. or you can locally record the run which will save it to an .mp4 file on your computer. Then you can upload that to YouTube.

Most games will either always require video proof or require it past a certain time threshold, so getting in the habit of recording all of your runs will make the submission and verification process much easier. I'd also check out the rules for the game to make sure they don't have any extra requirements and contact the mods of the game if you have any questions for them about submitting runs.
