Hey friends!

I have two quick questions regarding the site.

1. Are blindfolded runs able to be categories? Or are there reasons there aren't any (at least that I've seen, there may be some).

2. How can new categories be added? I see people say "ask the mod of the game" but I have asked with no response. Are other mods able to add the categories I am looking for? They are logical categories based on difficulty (easy, normal, hard).

If the mods of the game and the super mods of the series (if applicable) are not replying in a timely fashion, you can use this thread to request moderation for the game http://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/63nr7. Please note though that it is a last resort thread and is usually best resorted to if about 3 weeks have passed with inactivity from the mods and they are not replying on social media or other messaging sources/forums.

As for blindfolded runs, they most likely aren't on the site for a variety of reasons with the main one being that they take a very long time and will probably be segmented (while this site focuses on RTA). Also, there is most likely very, very little competition for those types of runs due to the high level of patience and skill required to complete them. So even if a run could be done in a reasonable time frame, there would most likely be little to no competition so that's why you most likely won't see those types of challenge runs on here.

I ended up hearing back from the mod, which is awesome. Categories have been added.

So then in theory, blindfolded runs are acceptable as categories? I was mainly unsure about whether or not the blindfold used in said runs would be considered "legitimate", as I imagine someone who lacks integrity could totally fake the run. I run a game that is ~7 mins to complete, but blindfolded can make it significantly harder. I tested it and was able to finish in 9:59. Since it may be worthwhile as a category, I will look into it!

In that case, if blindfolded for your game can be completed in that short of time span, then by all means ask the mod of the game to add it. For something that short it might be added to a game as a Misc. category.
