I am attracted to this Vietnamese girl in my College Bio class. I would like to learn some Vietnamese to impress her. What are some good TV Shows in this language so that I may immerse myself in the language? Vietnamese is hard as shit to pronounce and hearing it a lot will certainly help me.

I think it will be pretty clear that he has no idea what he's talking about and that he's just trying to be cute. It doesn't work as an opener, unless he already knows some of the language. I'm assuming he has already talked with her a little bit, and he's just looking for more ways to show off, show interest, and be fun. It's only a bad idea if he's trying something ridiculous like not approaching her until he's fluent. It's also a bad idea if he detests Vietnamese culture, for some reason.
I would do something like this whether I was trying to show attraction to a girl or trying to make friends. There is no harm in learning a little bit of someone's language for the sake of being friendly. If he's interested in her, then it takes more than a little Vietnamese to show attraction and to possibly develop an attraction in her.
You can learn the basics with PIMSLEUR. Try to find the vietnamese one. Which may exist, I'm not sure but I have many languages here. It's a really great repetition audio course. And you can have it on your cellphone, and listen Wherever you want. While driving for example, since it's all audio.
And as said, you should try to get closer to this girl and find what you also might have in common first. Do not just bull in speaking vietnamese out of nowhere, couse it might makes she realize that your just trying to impress her. There's a difference between being cute and being fake. You have your qualities as a person, so just show your best side, and keep in mind there are many things that would make her like you. Good luckl!
