Is it, in theory, possible to be your own dad?

Get really creative here. I don't want answers like "Of course not, idiot."

What the fuck is wrong with ya?

@Racingmonster I have literally no idea what the fuck I just read.

I started thinking about time travel, but I ended up with a son that is also my brother, which doesn't even need time travel to work.

Maybe if you went back in time, did a Captain Ginyu-style body switch with your dad, and then smashed your mom.

Legally, if you were to marry your own mother you would be your own step-dad.

Biologically, you'd have to use time travel, but that throws out its own problems. If you WERE your own father, then that causes a paradox if there is only a single universe, because where did the original you come from to go back in time to make you in the first place. If we assume that there are parallel universes for each and every decision made, then travelling back in time would make a universe where your mother didn't meet your original father and left her open to meet you, but because that is a new universe, then the child isn't technically you.

So if you want to know if you can be your own father then no, not biologically.

I was thinking the same thing. Would the resulting child technically be "you"? That's why i considered a body-switch with your actual father. Biologically, it would be a child produced by your father's delicious goop-drops and your mother's tantalizing baby bag. Still, a similar argument could be made as to whether the child would be you, based on different reasonings. There could be a spiritual element, depending on how you look at it.

To be honest, I was wondering also these days... Like; if you had a super power, than could morph into animals... So you would turn into a chicken, and put an egg. So later, you turn back to human form again, and eat that same egg

Wouldn't be strange to eat something that came out from yourself? '-'

You should use the chromosome manipulation during the fetus cutscene if you want to do that self-pregnancy glitch.

I think it must say something about your character, the fact that you jumped straight to eating your own egg, rather than wondering about what would hatch from the egg. Would it be alive? Would it be a chicken? Would it be able to transform? How long would you have to be a chicken to be able to produce an egg? There are so many questions to be answered, but we'll never know, because you just had to taste your own period. So erotic.

First of all... I jumped straight to eating the egg because I love eggs '-' Second; As I am an adult, with this mutant ability I would be able to tranform into an adult chicken. So I could put an egg right away. Just maybe I would have to find a Rooster fist? don't know. I guess it would be the only embarassing part. But if I was a Chicken when I put the egg, so a baby chicken would hatch from the egg. what would you expect? A dragonfly?

Parallel universe and time travel. That's my answer (no memes pls)

@WeaponLord

Chickens don't just automatically produce eggs. It takes time. It also takes a rooster, as you mentioned.

You're a person who transformed into a chicken. Have you even seen a person transform into a chicken? Why should we assume that the person in chicken form would have all the exact functions of a chicken? A person in chicken form is not a chicken. They are merely a person in the form of a chicken.

I wouldn't know what to expect. I would imagine that it wouldn't be a chicken, and it likely wouldn't be alive. At best, it would probably be a strange conglomeration of tissue.

England

Chickens don't require a rooster to produce an egg, only to produce a fertilised egg. If you merely wished to eat an egg you made then you would need to be a chicken for a day or two. If you wished to eat a chicken that you made you would obviously need to go through the whole incubation process too.

Thanks, Ozotuh. So an unfertilized egg is the same, except that it won't develop into a chicken?

According to Animorphs, you can only stay morphed for two Earth hours. Since Animorphs is a series of historical non-fiction, then we can use those books as a reference. Two hours isn't long enough to produce an egg.

Also according to Animorphs, the egg you produced would likely disappear. I was thinking this before I looked into Animorphs. Everything about the chicken would be created from your own, original mass. Thus, you would need to retain that mass when transforming back into a human.

I can't think of many other scientific documentations to reference, at the moment. Maybe I'll look into the X-Men series of documentaries.
