Have a Concern, and a few questions.

I just logged onto the site and noticed a few things regarding games I mod. I got moved down to a regular mod for Bebop and Tempo, which is understandable because I don’t have a run but I looked on the NASCAR series because I was added to a game and noticed I was no longer the series mod for it. If any feedback is needed please give it.

-Thank You!

EDIT: I have also noticed I’m a junior mod or regular mod for other games too. Such as Mario Super Sluggers. I was Super Mod before but not anymore. I also no longer series mod for the Mario Sports series. I’m really confused

Frankly, StrawberryMilk, you've made an awful amount of bad moderator decisions while you've been here. The number of games you've requested and removed yourself on is absurd. Demoting yourself is fine, but when you've done it to close to half the games you've ever moderated, you seem to only want to moderate on a whim. You also offered moderator to the first person who responded to you on a post you deleted. Looking at some of the games you mod, the links to a LOT resources are broken, even when someone told you. You caved in to giving racingmonster moderator just because he was getting upset.

There are more examples but I would have to get more specific. I don't see why you would want to be moderator if you're just going to leave the position shortly after you lose interest in a game; It's apparent you don't have that much interest.

I completely understand where your coming from, and yes I have made bad decisions as moderators. Let me ask you, what would be best for me to do now in terms of the moderating? And put into note that I’m not sure how long I’ll be on the site since I’m getting really busy in personal life such as a job and school and college soon after.

You're welcome to continue moderating the games you're still a part of, but next time you want to help a game, please have a run info it, that way you know you have actual interest.

I should add; You contacted me about moderating a game I was moderating aswell that I wanted to get rid of, with the message that you wanted to run the game. You probably saw that I removed you from it, as I don't want to help mod-hungry people.

I enjoy speedrunning more than moderating boards.

No offense, but that's exactly the problem here : We have numerous people here, with different ages, and a lot of us have a job or are doing studies to get one in the future. And they still are averagely good mods. We are not blind about IRL business because we all have big or small IRL business, and that is exactly why becoming a moderator implies reflexion & responsabilities when you wanna do it, despite of what you do IRL.

Moderating is not only about knowing a game and having some WR's, it's about taking the responsability to carry a game by helping newcomers and runners, checking runs, and facing debates or dramas when it happens. Knowing the game is good, but you need to be available and to have good communication with others, with diplomacy.

Being mod is mostly not fun, not easy, and it takes time. And it's definitely not a decision to take lightly, as collecting Pokemon.

You're asking about what to do now as moderator, after you went so far collecting games' moderations ? This is completely wrong order.

If you're a mod, give some advices to newcomers & runners if they have question about something that you know about the game, check and verify runs if they are good, face issues and debates if they appear inside communities, while staying objective the most possible. There are various ways to be a good mod, but these are common roots.

And if you know you're about to leave any moderation, or won't be able to do your job as mod, anticipate : inform your community about it, and look if someone else is valuable enough to take your place.

These aren't smart ideas, these aren't rocket science. But these are supposed to be obvious if you care the least minimum about any game or community as mod.
