Hi, I don't do speedruns but I love the community and what it's all about :)

My name is Austin Sojka, I am a game developer working towards the the release of my first game on steam. I don't do speedruns but I love watching them, especially during the charity events like games done quick.

I don't know if anyone will be passionate enough about my game to put in the hours to be able to speedrun it, but I designed a lot of levels with the idea of "If somebody got really good at my game they could complete this level extra fast by doing xyz". So if somebody does get to that point with my game those nugets of reward are there for them :P

I actually thought about posting some beta access keys in the Speedrunning section just for the sake of getting keys in to the hands of people who might appreciate that aspect of the game, though I'm not sure of the community rules on this sort of thing. If anybody has an opinion on that I'm all ears.

Cheers and again hello, nice to meet you all.

Devs sharing their games is a practice that is greatly encouraged around here, though it will certainly help your case to be more descriptive about your game:

What genre is it? How long is it? Is it technically demanding to play? Are there a lot of random factors, or RNG? How is the pacing? Does it feature a lot of autoscrolling content?

etc, these are all factors that will impact the player's interest in the game. There is also a very detailed guide on how to design a game to cater to speedrunners that you can find at https://kb.speeddemosarchive.com/Making_your_game_speedrunner-friendly

Oh dang, that is some nice info. Thanks for that. I can try to incorporate that in to my post when I do post in the speedrunning section. It's categorized as a puzzle game but honestly probably 50% of the levels are less about being a puzzle and more about your speed/timing.

Frankly it is a difficult game just to even beat in the first place, but I'm convinced that it would be very possible to determine the best paths and find the fastest most consistent way to beat even the most complicated levels. I should try to speedrun it myself sometime I suppose, even though I'm not generally in to speedrunning :P
