Intro and personal discovery take 2!

So since I posted a video link in my last intro my account got flagged and banned. This has been resolved thankfully, but I'm still unaware of how long I am going to have to wait until I can link the video again.

Anyway

Hello, so I found the speed running community through a suggested video on YouTube of someone running Super Mario 64. Through that I found AGDQ and have watched a ton of other speed runs.

So I recently picked up JSRF again, like I always do. It has always been that one game that I have had for forever but never actually beat, but always come back to because of how fun it is.

While I was playing I thought if there was anyone who did speed runs for JSRF and that's how I found this place! Through find AGDQ and seeing that there are people that run JSRF, it inspired me to try and get a proper setup up going to try and run JSRF. For now though I am just going to try and better familiarize my self with the game and its flow.

While doing so, I had just made my way into 99th street and I remember learning about the dark district skip and thought I would try it for fun. And well I kinda succeeded. I was able to land on the wall and boost dash far enough to get the cut scene to trigger but not enough to get to the other side, ending up with me in water which then put me back at the tower. Wondering what the game would do since I wasn't in the area I went back to that area but the normal to see if the fence was up, which it ended being.

So at this point I am think "Hmm, I wonder if they coded it to be electrified of both sides" so I got nice and close and ZAP. Which promptly knocked me back into the water and brought me out on the ledge in between the bridges.

BUT THAT'S WHERE THE FENCE WAS! So every time I would get out of the water, on the frame i would regain control of the character( or die because I ran out of health) I would get zapped back into the water. Couldn't move, couldn't die, couldn't pause effectively soft locking the game. Yeah laugh it up professor K xD
