Recording with emulator

This is my problem, I had tryed 10 different screen recorder, but my pc its just not good enough and while recording the game lags. My game is a GBA game, so I play in a VBA emulator, the thing is, the emulator has the option record AVI/record sound/record video, and while recording video, it doesnt lags. So: -Can my run be legal without recording the timer? (I would use the timer and share the splits, but it wouldn't be visible in the video)

Also cant record in AVI, it would be in VisualBoyAdvance Movie, that can only be reproduced in VGA, so if I want to upload that run I should reproduce it there, and then record that with another program? can I convert the VBA movie directly?

European Union

if your PC can't handle OBS & the emulator at the same time,

try speaking with the mods of the game you try to submit to, maybe they're fine with doing it that way.

if not, try to record with outside means like a camcorder or your mobile phone.

England

Yes, recording without a split timer onscreen should be perfectly legal. Splits are a means of convenience, nothing more.

Thanks for your responses. Its just that I have already break the WR I'm trying, twice, but in my PC where I can't record. In the weekends I try in another PC where I can record, but always choke. So I was trying to see alternate solutions. I will try this weekend once again and if I don't make it, I will try recording with my mobile. Thanks again.
