NES Classic Mini vs. 3rd Party Emulation

I've heard that the NES Classic Mini's official emulator is a little slower, and less accurate, than some 3rd party emulators.

I just wanted to ask if that's true?

And if so, I know that the NES Classic Mini can be hacked so you can put a different emulator on it. I wanted to know how that would affect the legitimacy of a speedrun.

Hacking/modding a console to gain an advantage in speed is usually always banned. For what it's worth I don't think hacks for NES mini even exist.

And yes, the NES mini is slower than a regular NES console. Emulators that people are used to for a computer run at the same speed as an NES console so the NES mini is still slower. A real NES/regular emulators run a bit over 60FPS and the NES mini runs under 60FPS at like 59.98 or something.

No, there are hacks. I've actually successfully put more ROMs on it.

But, of course, if it is slower, and a hack isn't aloud, I probably won't bother using it for speedruns.
