Brand new to this community even though i've been a huge fan and follower of speedrunning for years now. Started out watching the Mexican Runner with his original Contra runs and i've been hooked since. Currently watching AGDQ2016 and I really, at some point, would love to be a runner during this amazing marathon.

I want to start speedrunning and my game of choice to start is Rush N' Attack. I know it's not a super popular game (according to the current runs) but it's a game I've always loved.

Any tips or anything I need to now prior to starting is always appreciated. I look forward to getting to know you all over the upcoming months.

Nice to meet you. I'm Lance.

That's awesome that your choice is a not so popular game. Depending on how unpopular it is that's give you the opportunity to come up with your own routes, trick, and maybe even find some interesting glitch to get a good. time.

You're doing what I feel everyone should be doing... you're running a game that you really love.

When it comes to tips the best thing you can do as a new runner is to not give yourself high expectations for your first run. So basically don't expect your first run to be perfect. in fact make your first run a no reset run. That what I always do. Second... DON'T GET FRUSTRATED! Frustration lead to demotivation and demotivation leads to consistent bad runs. If something doesn't go the way you planned and you end up reseting- tell yourself what you did wrong and fix that one thing. If every run you make something better, even if you mess up something else, you've already gotten better at that part. And Third... after you make your routes I beg of you please, please come up with some back up strats. I've never play Rush N' Attack, so I don't know if you can have any back up strats but if you can make some. Back up strats will decrease the amount of reset by a huge amount.

Anyways, welcome to the community! I look forward to seeing your first run!
