Is there any disadvantage in running SMW on a emulator?

California, USA

The only disadvantages to running on emulator are:

  1. Input delay (there is a small delay when you press a button and an action happens), but you will get used to it/ probably not notice it.

  2. The SNES runs at a slightly faster framerate than emulator giving you a few seconds in a longer run.

Honestly nothing that should turn you off from running smw on emulator while starting out.

Ok, thanks. What emulator would you recommend then?

Texas, USA

I recommend Higan.

the hardest part of SMW on emulator is boxjump in YI3, this has to do with the input lag ldad mentioned. Once you get comfortable with that, you'll generally be used to the input lag.

Wich version of Snes9x can i use? or wich one is the best for speed runnig

Anything 1.5x or newer since 1.4x and earlier is banned. I think the current iteration is 1.53 but I don't stay up to date on that emulator.

The current snes9x is 1.5.4 but it sucks so stick with 1.5.3. GL on the runs,

Why 1.52 is banned? Is there advantages with snes9x 1.52 and below that had been found?

If computer strenght is a problem then I'd recommend Snes9x over BizHawk, BizHawk lagged alot for me. Never heard of Higan though.
