Hi,

I am a little confused about speedrunning a Playstation 1 game on a Playstation 2 or Playstation 3. Even if you still use the PS1 disc I think the load times are slightly faster on a Playstation 3 console. Not every game works with Load times on the leaderboard so I don't know which platform I need to choose.

For example: I use my 102 Dalmatians PS1 disc on my PS3 console to speedrun. Does this mean I speedrun this game on a PS1 eventhough it's on a PS3? Or does this mean my speedrun isn't 'legal'?

You just get an advantage compared to PS1 / PS2 users, that's all imo.

Building on what was said, usually there isn't problems with using newer consoles, but each game can have different rules to the next. Your best bet is to just ask a moderator of the game you hope to run. They'll be able to clear it up for you.
