Hello, I am a Catalan Pokémon Red speedrunner. Most of you probably don't know what "Catalan" is, so let me go ahead and explain to you: Catalan is anyone who comes from Catalonia, a region from Spain with hundreds of thousands of people who want that said region to become independent. Here's a bit of information from NYtimes: http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2015/09/27/world/europe/ap-eu-spain-catalan-independence.html With that being said, I kindly ask if speedrun.com could add the Catalan flag as an option in the run submitting section. I'd love to choose my country when I submit any run. While there's probably not so many runners that come from Catalonia, I don't think adding its flag would hurt anyone; in fact, I think it would only make people happy. Thank you very much.

I understand that what you want is to see it as a country, but even if things might be moving because of the recent news, I honestly think that this is a bit too early to move on.

However, the catalonian flag is already available. You can find it as a region after you select "Spain" as a country. I know it will appear as Spain in the leaderboards, but everywhere else on the website (forums, profile) it will be mentioned as Catalonia. That's the best we can offer for now.

My opinion is, when things are getting more official for the separation between Spain and Catalonia, then we can add this change to the website as well. Other admins will probably show their opinion too.

I thought it would be fine to include it as flag like the Spanish, French or any from any country if that wouldn't hurt anybody (I really do not think anyone would be angry because of that), but what you bring on the table makes sense. It would be nice if runners had a choice of whether to be represented by a regional flag or not. I know there are some Quebec runners who would like that, for example.

Only one way. You can hide the region and show only the country, but you can't hide the country and show only the region.

So you can't be from Scotland, Catalan, or Quebec on the boards, to name some examples.

Right on leaderboard he still shows as UK.
