Processing streams - get a run on speedrun.com?

Hello all,

I'm rather new to speedrunning and I just recently finished my first run with a relatively good time. I've streamed on Twitch, but since there was a dead run before it, I'd like to know what to do, to get the good run on speedrun.com.

Via Livestreamer, I'm currently saving the broadcast on my PC. So I'd have to crop out the dead run, what programs would you suggest? Is there a way to remove the commentary (without the in-game music) and re-comment the run? Is there a need to upload it on Youtube, or is it possible to upload the cut run to speedrun.com from my PC?

Thanks in advance!

For the last question, you cannot upload directly on speedrun.com, so you have to use a different site for that. (You can also use highlights on twitch / hitbox, it's fine).

As for removing commentary, no idea. For programs well... i heard people uses windows movie maker, but i guess anything like that could work ? Personnaly i have Sony Vegas Pro, but i just open the recording in VLC and record it again via OBS if it's not too long.

Speedrun.com doesn't host the videos. The video proofs are hosted by YouTube, Twitch ... etc If you stream on Twitch, you can configure your account to save your broadcast in your channel (for not very long). Then go to your video manager and cut your "past broadcast" into an "highlight". There is a button to export your highlight to YouTube. Also, if you saved the stream locally, you can obviously edit it, with Sony Vegas Pro for example, then upload it on YouTube.

If you use OBS Studio you can set the local recording to only use certain audio tracks. Make stream use track 1 and 2 and then make recording use track 2.
