Like South Park, Bojack Horseman, and Rick and Morty. Where the narrative is deep and meaningful and the comedy is on point. I think this kind of show is rare but I crave more!!!
I thought you said intelligent???? South park and Rick and Morty definitely aren't intelligent.
I've never seen R&M, but South Park can be considered intelligent. The superficial humor of the show might be "dumb", but the deeper satire is culturally relevant and poignant.
The latest season of South Parks brings in situations on how being politically correct is changing society and addresses different things with it through out the season as an ongoing story. Yes there are plenty of shit jokes but them making jokes about pc people is spot on. You have to be smart enough to understand how the events in the show bring out a greater picture that can relate. It isn't on Disney Channel.
Rick and Morty tackles subjects like existentialism and absurdism. Just because you don't understand the deep meaning behind the show doesn't mean it isn't intelligent.
South Park and Archer are all I really watch these days. Like.... Outside of Ray Donovan I don't even watch live action, just South Park and Archer.
If you watch the Boondocks and enjoy it, keep in mind that only the first three seasons are written by the creator, Aaron McGruder. As a fan of the show, I remember finding the humor of the fourth season to be more derivative than original.
I've already seen The Boondocks but Venture Bros. is something my friend has suggested so that is going on my list. Right now I am watching Duckman.
I finished Moral Orel a week ago and I still haven't gotten over it. It is a show that truly blew my expectations out of the water. Please, everyone, if you haven't seen it I suggest it to you in the highest regard I could possibly give. I hold it almost as highly as Bojack Horseman.
Old thread, but, judging by the first episode, God, the Devil, and Bob is defiantly what you are looking for
I've seen the first couple episodes of that. Never finished it. Thanks for reminding me about it. I remember laughing my ass off.
Maybe you should watch triptank. I like it very much and maybe its the type of comedy you are looking for.
