How to run JP Color Splash

  1. Go here: https://wiiu.guide/ and mod your Wii U. To do the following steps you need a Wii U running on a custom firmware.

  2. Install japanese Color Splash to an external hard drive using this: https://wiidatabase.de/wii-u-downloads/wii-u-tools/wup-installer-gx2/ You can get the game files by using Wii U USB Helper: https://www.wiiuusbhelper.com/

  3. Put this homewbrew app on your sd card: https://github.com/FIX94/ftpiiu/releases

  4. Launch the Homewbrew Channel and start FTPii.

  5. Install FileZilla: https://filezilla-project.org/ and connect to your Wii U.

  6. Navigate to the USB storage and find the Color Splash folder. If there is an "ink" folder in "content" you found the right folders.

  7. Edit the "cos.xml" file. You need to download it, edit it on your pc and upload it to your Wii U again. I recommend using Notepad++ for this. There will be a line that looks like this: <argstr type="string" length="4096">main.rpx</argstr> Change that to: <argstr type="string" length="4096">main.rpx -region JPN</argstr>

  8. Go back to the Wii U Menu, go to the settings and move Color Splash to the internal storage. You can skip this if you think your external hard drive loads faster.

  9. You're done. Have fun with JP Color Splash. Get WR.
