Hi everyone. I am trying to understand this awesome run but I don't understand the glitch with de deku seed. Normaly he must take a damage to cancel the text of the deku seed to start the glitch (that's what I found on reddit and you tube in a video). So how did he cancel this text and activate the glitch without taking a dammage?
I searched but I didn't find the answer. If someone can explain or give me a link to an explanation i would be gratefull.
PS: I'm french and i'm trying to comment speed run in french; that can explain my mistakes in english if i did some
You aren't looking at the WR run. The WR is a 17:09 and uses dive cancel GID instead of the old deku nut crawlspace GIM. Look at the current WR under the any% tab and watch that video before continuing.
Oh, I misunderstood what you had said. The new method of GID clips out of bounds into water and uses a dive cancel to make the game think Link is underwater, so when he picks up something it will be stored as opposed to being picked up.
Ok so (if I understand well) when he get the deku seed, for the game he is underwater so they is no "cinematic".
And the game think he is underwater juste because of the previous oob in water?
No, it was because of the dive cancel. He cancelled a dive by pressing A and C-Up on he same frame, and from there there's one frame in Link's idle bobbing in water animation where he can move, and you use that to get onto the vine and back inbounds.

Recently, many longer runs submitted as Twitch highlights have had parts of their audio muted due to Twitch's automatic copyright detection, the most frequent case being long sections of Lost Woods music. Some vods will even give a network error at these parts which can cause several minutes of foot
