So I was browsing yesterday when I found that a run of 8:40 had been submitted for this category. I remembered in a BOB 100% run, I got 100 coins in just under 4 minutes. So I grinded it down to a 3:11. I knew something was missing, and I figured out I should do the Mega Mushroom section when I get past the Chain Chomp, rather than at the end. After I get 95 coins I stand on the tiny island and use backflips for the last five. The final one will be the bottom middle. So I grinded that. From a 3:11 to a 3:08, to a 3:07, to a 3:03. SO CLOSE to a sub 3 I HAD to keep going. Optimization was becoming an issue, and I needed to make sure there were almost NO coin misses. After I finally got 2:57.83, I was satisfied.
