Lakitu Valley Par 4 Eagle Strats with Waluigi
Updated 5 years ago by MetalYoshi

There's no Wind in Lakitu Cup, so in theory, there should be ways to attempt to hole out for Eagles to save even more time and perhaps open up the possibility of skipping a third hole.

These strategies may help save significant time with the Character Matches vs Koopa Troopa and Peach as well since you're forcing the CPU to take at most two shots as opposed to four or five (or sometimes more). Hopefully, you won't need any of the strats past the 11th hole, because you'll want the Matches clinched by then. Every extra hole played costs significant time.

This is tricky because there are two cup locations for each hole, as detailed in this Guide: http://www.speedrun.com/mgtt/guide/kfxql That, and most of Greens have some minor slope.

Here is what I've come up with. Assume full-power with no Impact changes and perfect accuracy unless specified to save space. Also, I've made these so that the Tee Shots are identical to minimize the mental processing required. NOTE: THESE WON'T WORK IF THERE IS RAIN. All the more power to you if you can come up with backup strats, but I wouldn't worry about it.

If you manage to succeed at obtaining 5 Eagles/Aces (good luck!), you COULD skip a Par 5 and two Par 4s (maybe 14, 17, 18), but I don't know if this ends up much faster than skipping the traditional 13 & 17. Snagging 7(!) Eagles/Aces means being able to skip 13, 17, AND 14 or 18, since you'd have a potential score of -22 for the other 15 holes, and +28 in penalties for a total of +6. This would save unholy amounts of time (sub-8:30 would be a very plausible yet insane achievement). If you are the best and luckiest player in the world and can manage 9 Eagles, you will be able to skip 3 Par 5s!

Hole 1 (Note: It's hard to tell which pin you get since they are so close together. Go by distance to pin):

Left-Center Flag (358y): 1) Play a 1W Power shot with top-ball Impact and one frame early of the Sweet Spot with Super Topspin. You should end up 112.2 yards away if all goes perfectly. 2) Play an 8I Power shot with top-ball Impact and one frame early of the Sweet Spot with Super Backspin. If you missed the Sweet Spot by two frames on the drive instead of one, play a low 7I one frame early of the Sweet Spot instead.

The Other Left-Center Flag (358y): 1) Play a 1W Power shot with top-ball Impact and one frame early of the Sweet Spot with Super Topspin. You should end up 112.5 yards away if all goes perfectly. 2) Play a top-ball Impact shot one frame early of the Sweet Spot.

Hole 2:

Front-Right Flag (366y): 1) Play a low 1W Power shot with Super Backspin. 2) Play a low 5I shot two frames early of the Sweet Spot.

Center Flag (371y): 1) Play a low 1W Power shot with Super Backspin. 2) Toggle down to the 141y mark of the 4I and shoot two frames early of the Sweet Spot.

Hole 4:

Front-Left Flag (363y): 1) Play a top-right Impact shot with Topspin. 2) Club down to the 3I, select Power, and play a low shot with Backspin.

Back-Right Flag (377y): 1) Play a top-right Impact shot with Topspin. 2) Club down to the 4W, tap R once so you have 173y set up and play a high shot with Super Topspin.

Hole 6:

Front-Right (381y): 1) Play a low 1W Power shot with Super Backspin. 2) Tap R once so you have 161y set up and play a high shot with Super Backspin.

Back-Left (393y): 1) Play a low 1W Power shot with Super Backspin. 2) Tap R once so you have 173y set up and play a perfect shot with Super Backspin.

Hole 8:

Front-Left (354y): 1) Play a low 1W Power shot with Super Backspin. 2) Toggle down to the 138y mark of the 4I and hit a perfect shot.

Center (356y): 1) Play a low 1W Power shot with Super Backspin. 2) Club down to the 7I, select Power, and hit a low shot with Topspin.

Hole 10:

Front-Right (358y): 1) Play a low 1W Power shot with Super Backspin. 2) Tap R once so you have 137y set up and hit a low shot.

Center (363y): 1) Play a low 1W Power shot with Super Backspin. 2) Play a low shot one frame early of the Sweet Spot and add Backspin.

Hole 11:

Left (317y): 1) Play a low shot with Topspin. 2) Club up to the 4I, play a high 3/4 shot with timing one frame short of the Sweet Spot and add Backspin.

Back-Left (330y): 1) Play a low shot with Topspin. 2) Play a low shot with timing one frame short of the Sweet Spot.

Hole 14:

Back (396y): 1) Tap R once, select Power, and hit a low shot with Super Backspin. 2) Club down to the 4w, tap R once so you have 173y set up and play a perfect shot with Topspin.

Back-Right (396y): 1) Tap R once, select Power, and hit a low shot with Super Backspin. 2) Tap the Control Pad down to the bottom of the ball, Select Power, tap R until you are down to the 177y mark, aim for the center of the Fringe on the right side, and pray. This is my least consistent and most difficult strat because this hole location is horrendous.

Hole 15:

Right (317y): 1) Play a full shot with Super Backspin. 2) Club up to the 6I, tap R until you get to the 122y mark and play a low shot.

Center (313y): 1) Play a full shot with Super Backspin. 2) Play a full shot with Super Topspin (WAIT, WHAT?!). If something goes wrong, move the Impact Point down and forgo the Spin. If this goes perfectly, you'll hit the Pin and the residual topspin will force the ball into the hole. Not for the faint of heart.

Hole 18:

Front (299y): Thanks to ZirconEagle16 for discovering this strat! 1) Play a low shot one mark short of full power and one mark short of the Sweet Spot with Backspin. 2) Tap R so you have 104y of Power and play a low shot with Topspin.

Center (306y): 1) Play a low shot one mark short of full power and one mark short of the Sweet Spot with Backspin. 2) Club up to the 6I, take one mark off of full power and use Super Backspin.
