Official time = 41:06.033 This is the Famicom (Japanese) version of the game.

This run contains a game over, but turned out to be the fastest strategy given the scenario. This beats the former world record by 3 minutes and 24 seconds due to the glitch described below.

I used a glitch to pass Dr Jekyll as Mr Hyde which you normally can't do. This allows me to nearly skip the entirety of the Dr Jekyll's portion. After beating the game as Hyde, you simply need to walk to the end to complete the game (with a few obstacles).
