RoR has been in a couple GDQs before. The RNG is not a barrier. Presentability is.

No, editing the game to alter the RNG, any of it, is not kosher. For one, it's completely arbitrary, why just the maps, why not also the spaceship spawn location, why not also the amount of chests that spawn, why not also the odds of finding an orange chest... Secondly, you can't guarantee that changing one thing in the game doesn't affect other things unintentionally, no matter what you do about it.

Would be interesting to see how the game seeds runs though. If we can figure out how to alter that, without editing anything, that could be sweet.

I'm pretty sure the wallet is a mistake.

The amount of time you gain on Providence from having a few more items is negligible. The amount of time you lose at the end of the map due to gathering up more gold, leading to more exp, leading to slower exits, is significantly greater. A single bad map can cost you an easy 6 seconds.

When do you get it, anyway? Feathers are vital for movement, you want at least 4 of them as soon as possible, and then the wallet loses value.

Alright, laser turbine is legit. You only need a bit of attack spamming between phases to charge it up. Every level starts with 0 charge.

According to the wiki, the amount of attacks you need to charge it depends on your attack speed, so counting shots won't be very consistent, no need to bother. Means we likely won't get an instant blast on the wurms, but it shouldn't be difficult to get within 10 attacks of proccing it, which is still very fast.

Residential with Onslaught is the worst strategy I've ever thought of. 1:28 is possible with the perfect shield bug spawn, but it's never perfect ._.

Ukulele's proc chance is pretty low compared to its damage, and it scales really badly when stacked. It's barely better than a stack of rockets and only for the worms, you don't want to slow down phase 1 just to improve phase 2.

I've been meaning to test the laser turbine, whether it's viable to get the hit on demand. But it's really hard to tell when it's about to fire.

Firstly, you need to be just a little off-screen, don't keep holding right. It's not a matter of distance, you simply get teleported after being out of bounds for a couple seconds. Then you just need to have the right height, which is hard to describe, you just have to have a feel of it.

In addition, I'd be playing on the Zoom x2 option, which doubles the game's zoom. It's bad for speed, but it's good for allowing people to actually see what's going on in the game. It's unwatchable at Zoom x1.

Risk of Rain has had a couple marathon runs, but none of them were really good representations of the how sweet the run is. You go insanely fast, you murder everything, and then you set off some nice fireworks for the finale. The less visible skill is from the map knowledge, enemy control, and stacking odds in your favour, which takes explaining rather than viewing.

Monsoon is mostly just a longer but easier category, giving 30 extra seconds per portal. A good run would only take 12 minutes, but a couple significant RNG elements could cost a lot of time. Availability: Any day, 11am-6pm and 8pm-1am CET.

Oh, apparently xbox can't do the Sunstone Skip, so you basically can't run Any%, either.

I think the only difference, aside performance, is that xbox can't turn off the UI, which loses a couple of seconds having to mash through dialogue.

And of course keyboard+mouse is best, just ask Ike :3

To do the quick intro skip, you press A+B or leftclick+rightclick at the same frame, which starts the game and also moves back to the main menu. Then you select options, B out of options, and it'll put up the pause menu and allow selecting Skip Prologue quicker.

Problem is, I don't think there's an easy way to port all the runs into the subcategories easily. Correct me if I'm wrong there.

You have to trigger the OVC on passing up to the overpass. Which also means you have to undo the movement to ensure you're reset to down at the door. From there, down-left should work fine. If it doesn't, then I'm not sure, try less down more left or something like that. There should be some sort of movement that works. If I remember correctly, you have to get into the area of the Men fight for the camera reset (doesn't trigger it ofc).
