CCG wouldn't really affect if the category is added. Last story being added as a category would probably make more sense if The Last Way wasn't so easy get through even without CCG. It only takes two minutes without CCG. With a two minute stage and a minute boss fight, the category would die pretty quickly.

I'm ok with adding the category if the other Shadow board mods would be, but my vote would go to no need to add unless there's reason to believe that it might help introduce new runners to the game. In that case I believe Neutral No CCG would work better for that as you really only need the Egg Vacuum unlocked to get a competitive time. Last story would require someone to play through the games 10 different endings and last story at least one before they can begin runs that have any chance of being competitive.

Last story would be skipping cutscences, The Last Way for approximately 2 minutes, more skipping cutscenes, then a rather easy boss fight once you get the strat down. So not exactly the best run ever, but it might be added in the future since it's been brought up quite a few times now.

Very unlikely. It's one stage, a boss, and a lot of cutscene skipping. The stage only requires about a minute of gameplay with CCG and the boss can be beaten in 2 minutes. It has a start and an end, so it's definitely a speedrun, but not one really worth adding to the boards here.

Not at the moment. That's a category we have been keeping track of outside of the boards since it really just me and Azurillkirby that run the category. Just like the No CCG categories before, if there's enough of a want to add the category to the boards it could happen. Right now the WR for Any% is 4:34:12 and the WR for No CCG is 5:14:16, both by me. I was actually just thinking about getting those videos highlighted today before I forgot about them.

CCG works on PS2. The only version it doesnt work on is Xbox. There's a few other issues with the PS2 version, like how normal chaos control wont take you as far as it does in the other versions. Also if you use CCG in Prison Island, the game is guaranteed to crash. Well at least this stuff happens when you play on a PS3. I dont have a PS2 to test on.

Another option for you would be to learn the Neutral Story No CCG route. We have leaderboards for all of the categories excluding CCG in the misc. section. Eventually we will be converting the boards to rank by in game time, so load times wont matter between levels, just gameplay during levels. The route itself is not that bad, it just requires playing the game the entire time instead of half the time with CCG :P

Hello,

There shouldn't be any major differences between GC and Wii. That's something I would like to look into in the future when I have more time.

I assume you are using something like Nintendont for playing the game on the Wii? If so, it's possible you are experiencing things you normally wouldn't if you were playing with an official physical disc. From experience I know there are some loading differences between the two so maybe your issue is a result of that.

By the way, as of right now there's currently a ban on any form of emulation runs for the game. If you would like a verifiable run, you would need to acquire a physical copy of the game and run with that. The ban is in place due to the inaccuracies and advantages emulation runs have over official release runs. For example, Running with Nintendont gives the runner a RTA advantage due to faster loading just about everywhere.

Don't let this stop you from learning the game though and feel free to ask if you have any other questions about the game.

Video guides are something I'm planning to start working on in the coming months.

Hello! I plan to run this game for the 12 Hour Challenge that will take place next weekend. I see that there are no runs or rules defined for this game to determine what exactly starts and ends the run. I would imagine that the start of the run would be on pressing Story in the main menu and it would end on winning the Robo Cup (before the grand battle story begins). Since I don't have a DS or 3DS capture card(yet), I plan to run the game on emulator. Currently the emulator I plan to use is desmume. In regards to completing this run and getting it approved on the leaderboard, is there anything else I should be concerned about? Anything wrong with the start and stop times or the use of an emulator? Thanks for reading!
