Since I was added as a moderator, I did it myself. The box was pretty hard to find but doing as they said in the Help forum worked well, so I'll take it haha :D Anyway, uploading your runs in a difficulty other than Cheiftan will let your run show in the leaderboard now :)
I know, but he just does not answer any messages I send him, that's the issue... so the leaderboard issue isn't fixed and will probably never be.
Hi!
I'd like to request moderation for the game Sid Meier's Civ. Rev. (https://www.speedrun.com/Sid_Meiers_Civilization_Revolution/full_game). There is an issue with the scoreboard not showing certain difficulties, so that's the reason for requesting.
The mod has been inactive for about 3 weeks. Contacted him through Twitch, Twitter and Youtube and he hasn't responded, despite coming online here. I also dropped a message on the game forum weeks ago with no success either.
Thanks!
I posted the message on the Help forum and got feedback, I need a moderator to uncheck the "default" box in the difficulty & nation variables, the runs will pop up then.
Thanks for the help, @Timmiluvs and @HowDenKing, will contact the moderator. :)
I have an issue with my run not showing on the leaderboard. http://imgur.com/E2paNJS //In this picture, you can see the "Science victory tab" saying that there are no runs, although mine should be there (notice also how, in the tab, it doesn't say "empty" like in Culture Victory; and yes, I'm sure I was on the Science tab and not on another one, the bug occurred for my 2 runs of today also). http://imgur.com/72agvQs //Here, you can see that the run is registered on my profile page, which makes it even weirder. It just shows there and not on the leaderboard. Thanks in advance :)
Hi guys! Just uploaded a run in Science Victory and it doesn't show in the leaderboard (it does show on my profile though, so that is weird).
Any idea of what causes that?
I find using a keyboard way easier since I'm used to playing games on pc and not on console. Just try both and see what works better for you. ^^
I started speedrunning a month ago and started with this game. My method was to watch a good run that showed the route (with glitches) and copy it level by level. If I couldn't get the glitch, I'd try again a few times, and if it was really too hard, I'd skip it. In a few days I had completed the game and proceeded to do a full run of it (ended up with a 56-something).
After that I'd just look at different strategies, routes or glitches/timesavers on others' runs or on my own. This worked well for me, but every person is different. There are many "easy" glitches in this game (which means that once you get it once or twice you get used to it easily) so it's a good game to begin speedrunning in my opinion. If you have more questions feel free to hop on our Discord, yup. :)
Also don't feel the pressure of "having to go fast" in the first few attempts. Just go for a full clear of the game without playing around to see what you end up with. ^^ And never reset when you're a beginner, just clear the game entirely a few times before trying to maximise your route. :)
Last but not least, speedrunning is fun, so try to have fun while doing it!
Hi everyone!
I'm new to speedrunning (kind of) and to this game, and I must say it feels good to play games I used to play as a kid again. As far as I know, there is no other way of connecting with runners of this game than through this forum, so I was wondering if setting up a discord server would be interesting or so, considering that it would allow us to share our findings in an easier way and help people to get to know each other.
Let me know what you think about it. ^^
