PAL ps2 will have the worst loads and frame rate yeah. And yeah Im sad to find that its not a backwards compatible game but thats the way it is. Im planning on getting an og xbox (already have the game) but its a must have to get a really good time in the game. But by all means run on ps2 youll just have to sit through the loads haha. Have thought about removing loads but its not really worth it. Just get the best times you can with the loads anyway I guess.
It would be awesome to see this routed yes. Seeing what is more optimal for white and black spy, seeing what courses are faster to link up, and not messing up at the same time. Originally I thought OoB glitches wouldve been cool but now rather it just seems more viable to see good teamwork and having two people not dying to see how fast this could get. Also finding optimal death options for one of the spys again would be interesting.
Tested this out, and pretty much if youre going to do full game runs, dont use ps2. Ps2 load times are about 13 seconds between levels, emulator loads are about 6.5 seconds (inconsistent), and xbox loads are as low as 4 seconds, maybe slightly faster. Havent properly tested out load times when skipping cutscenes however but again I assume xbox would just be the best. ILs shouldnt matter what you do it on (but wouldnt recommend emulator as frame drops slow the game down)
I considered a 2 player category as skips and out of bounds glitches have been found only viable with two players. I personally have not tried a run of this to see whether it is even faster using these out of bounds glitches but thought someone might find it fun to try. Use two players to get multiple items too, and then just choose one player to kill the other to obtain all items, which I thought seemed like a viable option. Has a larger possibilites and optimisations than single player modern I feel so feel free to try things out and find a route. Im yet to add rules to the game as no one has peaked any interest in the category but essentially the rules should be the same.
I just thought that no one would want to run classic% at all as theres way too much rng, really difficult, very long, but I guess Ive never been good at the mode. Also, wouldnt really be any legitimate strats so for a speed category so not very interesting, but if you want to run the category then sure I dont see why not. Just post some kind of rules youd like, I have barely played classic% so would be interested to see what youd implement and what you can find to speed up the game and reduce RNG and what youd classify as a "run"
I know its possible to beat the robot at the beginning, I found the strat to be too precise, and couldnt be bothered constantly resetting over it lol. Havent played it in a long while so can't remember what youre talking about for the second part, but all I know is that the game is unoptimised and there are many strats to be found, with better use of boosts so good luck to you.
Id assume since its on a completely different platform it probably should. I would probably need to see a run for sure, but if it seems so, and considering pc and mobile would have different speeds in general, or the app could possibly be slower, a seperate category could definitely be an option.
