I was bored one day, and a friend of mine and I decided to race NSMBDS casually. Unfortunatelly, his game kept crashing so the race was never finished. Now, the next day, I decided to speedrun this game just to keep my mind away from my everyday obsession, mmm~

Now, I didn't actually had any knowledge in "speedrunner" strats for this run, nor was I intending to actually run hard with the speedrun. It was just a casual-like speedrun.

In fact, my mental notes were rather simple: ~Maintain fire Mario status + fire flower in item reserve (I know this is slower). And just go quick. ~Use W1-2 Secret, W2-3 Secret Path, W3-2 Secret Path, W5-2 Secret (which may have been slower due to having to face W5-4 Autoscroller), and 2nd bottom path in W6. ~For applicable bosses, first stomp (1000pts), then ground pound to finish them off.

Opinion: I suppose this was a good run, considering I had saved at every single one of the save prompts I encountered. :P

Of course, I had died a bunch which costed at least 4 minutes total. Pffft, I've had at least 6 deaths this time, but considering how this was my first out-right attempt, no practice, haven't played in a year, it's pretty good.

I even improvised my notetaking for the splits. Not sure what I was thinking with having a split at getting the W2-3 Secret Exit. Eh.
