First ever recording of sub-43 minutes! World record and definitely my personal best!

This is my first run showcasing my version of the double overpowered set up, inspired by hecatarch's most recent world record. I was very impressed to see how much time can be saved by having bombs fully powered up by stage 7 so I knew I had to incorporate that into my own strategy. This set up is normally fully scripted out to stage 2, but I biffed it a little bit at the end of stage 1c and ended up with a stage 2 that I didn't have memorized. Luckily I recovered well.

It may seem like I did poorly in the first half with so many red splits, but in actuality the time I was comparing against was a run where I got really lucky early on. I am very satisfied with every section of this run. I don't see how I could have done this much faster without getting considerably lucky. All in all I would consider my luck in this run to be slightly above average, close to neutral. I didn't get lucky very often, but I rarely had terrible luck on any particular stages. Full fire really helps with finding the early doors without needing to rely too much on luck. The middling luck of this run almost makes me more proud tbh.

I don't think I'll ever be totally finished with this game, but I am done grinding on it for now :) until hecatarch inevitably beats me again lol sub-43 was my goal though and here we are. This is easily one of my favorite games of all time when played as a speed game. I strongly reccomend giving it a go for yourself.

(and I will excitedly explain any quirks or strategies for this game if anyone is just starting out trying to figure some of the more esoteric stuff out lol)

MVP for his run, I would have to say, was the triple-kill O'Neals on stage 5. (4:49 in the video, blink and you'll miss it) Wow I love this game. I can't wait to see someone do even better!
